Landmark "Speed" was one of the most used and quoted benchmarks back in
the good ole DOS days.
More comprehensive is the Intel OverDrive Demo & Diags program. It will
check the processor instruction set, perform an FPU conformance set and
measure the time for 8,250,000 iterations of a 100 cycle loop. For a 450 Mhz
Pentium II, it took 0.98 seconds on W98SE. Obviously, diags & tests work
beyond the 486 overdrive CPU.
