SPOCK-206 will manage the disk lights on your machine to indicate
communications with the SCSI host adapter. The disk activity light in
such cases does not necessarily imply your fixed disks are being accessed.
The bulb cuts down about 1% - 2% of the total disk transfer rate. Cheap, uh?
It's better to set a flag in memory, and check that on each clock tick.
Record the current state of the light in another bit in the same byte,
and you access the port only when the state changes. In fact, you miss a
lot of state changes but at the clock frequency that is of no
consequence.
