TP700C/3550/Linux/Parallel Port CDROM

Hi Gang.......

I have a "you can't get there from here" situation..........

1. The system has a 120mb ESDI hard drive with a DOS partition.

2. I have Zipslack.zip(~42meg)on a CD in the parallel port CDROM.

3. I can copy (using DOS) Zipslack.zip to the hard drive.

4. I then boot to Linux using a boot and a root disk that contains an
unzipping program.

5. When I unzip Zipslack, it runs out of space on the disk so I can't
get a full installation, because Zipslack.zip occupies too much space.

I need to do 1 of 2 things:

1. Find a larger ESDI hard drive for the Thinkpad 700C. (Anyone have
one larger than 120mb they would be willing to part with?)

2. Find a way to boot to Linux (ramdisk is fine) with appropriate
drivers that will allow me to unzip from the CDROM to the ESDI hard
drive. The documentation says Zipslack will unzip and run in a hard
drive of 100mb. I have read and tried almost everything I have
Googled, and nothing seems to work so far.

Any suggestions?
