We'll see. I've got two 95s coming this way in the near future. In my
book those Delta PSUs are very near total junk. There is no excuse for
a power supply that big (and that lightly loaded) to just lay down and
die without a very good reason!

I have never actually seen a Model 85 or 95 power supply do this. The
PC Server 500 and Model 90 supplies do monitor at least current flow in
some way. I've seen both units "rev up" their cooling fans when
confronted with additional load.
I wonder why it took IBM until 1990~91 to file a patent application for
the computer power supply.
