Hi guys.....
Beginning an 8560 restoration just to see what all I can pack into this
great old machine. To start with, it only has an external 5 1/4 floppy
drive card and a memory card with 16mb plus 1mb on the planar for a
total of 15mb....and you know why.
Here is problem #1.....I cannot get my ethernet connection to work.
Here is the setup:
1. SMC 8013EP/A adapter installed using the BNC connection.
2. MSDOS 6.22.
3. NetBEUI protocol using Microsoft Network Client.
4. Textbook installation done with software.
When I attempt to connect to a network drive, both lights on the
8013EP/A flash several times indicating (I think) both sending and
receiving........but I keep getting the error message "The computer
name specified in the network path cannot be located."
I am using the same setup on my AT breadboard machine....the only
difference is the cards are ISA......and it works perfectly.
Anybody have any experience with this setup?
