Hi Mik.........
and thanks for your reply! Here is my situation:
I have installed Caldera 1.3 because the CD came with the book "The
Complete Idiot's Guide to Linux". I have installed it on an a Thinkpad
365ED with an internal CDROM and an external floppy drive. I have also
installed a US Robotics 33.6 PCMCIA modem with an X-Jack for a phone
line connection.
My goal is to connect to my ISP (AOL). I have tried to configure the
connection using KPPP and have not been successful. I keep getting
"The PPPD daemon died unexpectedly", and I think it my attempt at
configuration was erroneous.
I have downloaded a program called AOL Dialer from here:
http://www.linspire.com/lindows_products_details.php?package_name=los-aol
I would like to install this program and give it a try to see if it
will help me configure my connection. However, I don't have any idea
how to install the program.
Could you possibly take a look at the program and give me some clues on
how to install it in my machine? I can burn it to a CD if need
be........
Thank you immensely.....
