on an IBM PS/2 Model 77, still getting I9990011 even after restoring the System Partition

Hello,
I have some problems installing operating systems on an IBM PS/2 Model
77.
I've put a 4GB SCSI disk in it.
Everytime I boot the machine, I get the error code I9990011
This means the computer can't find the System Partition on my hard
disk.
The solution is to:
- boot with the reference diskette
- select 2) Backup/Restore system programs
- select 3) Restore the system partition
- insert the reference diskette when prompted to do so
- insert the diganostic diskette when prompted to do so
- the computer says "The restoration of the system partition is
complete"
.... but then, I get the following error message:
"A problem occured during the hard disk initial microcode load (IML).
Continue until the Main Menu appears. Select "Backup/Restore system
programs", then select "Restore the System Partition". If the problem
remains, continue until the Main Menu appears. Select "Test the
computer" to determine the cause of this error and what action to
take."
Then, everytime I boot the machine, I always get error code I9990011.
Sometimes the errorcode is I9990010 or I9990012.
I tried to restore the System Partition three times with the above
method, and I still get I9990010 everytime I boot.
Any ideas ?
Thank you,
Daniel
