When I try to access my second hard drive, I now get this message:
"Drive not formated. Would you like to format now?"
Both the BIOS and fdisk recognize the drive correctly, however.
Looks like something has screwed the partition table etc.
This is an 80 Gb Seagate drive that I use only for data.
I don't care much about the drive, but there's one data file (1.3 Mb)
on it that I desparately need.
Any suggestions?
Try a decent recovery program like Easy Recovery Pro.
Acronis Disk Director is another good program.
It consists of Partition Manager, Boot Manager, Partition
Recovery and Disk Editor.
I once screwed up a Raid 0 disk (trying to clone it) on an HP
Proliant server. The hdd finally booted up empty. I used
Acronis Disk Director's Partition Recovery to recover all the
"lost" partitions on the 300GB HDD. I would never try to clone
a RAID disk again.
