Plug in a different cd-rom or return the machine. If you've kept an
e-machine going for more than a year of hard work, without repairs,
you're doing better than I. I used to think my 2.5 year old computer
was okay, but I replaced a dvd drive, network interface died, power
supply died, hd went flaky, and mainboard finally started causing the
thing to crash out of the blue before I just gave up on it. In my
opinion, emachines are not worth crap.
