Thank you Carl. I fixed the problem by downloading another version of the patch at another place. Perhaps I downloaded the wrong patch at the first time (the one for D2D) but I don't think so.
Anyway thank you very much !

Hello !
It's strange : I have Civ IV on my computer (with 1.09 patch installed) but the patch v152 says it can't launch because it doesn't find any Civ IV version on my hard disk. Am I the only one ? (it's a french version of the game).
Thanks in advance.
I haven't had that problem, although it does complain at the end of the
installation about not finding something. I ignore that, since I'm updating
from inside the game and it doesn't cause any detectable problems
after installation. The next time I launch the game, the program version
shows the patch build. (I don't know why it complains; it's the unmodified
retail version, the CD is in the drive where it always is, and I'm pretty sure
I used the default path during the original installation. It complained when
I upgraded to 1.09, too, but I still ended up with the patch in place.)
Are you using the program option to search for updates, or did you download the patch outside Civ4 and try to apply it? I don't know if that makes a difference, but it might.
