I can tell you Civ1 is still a favourite of mine over the rest of
the series. Civ4 I haven't figured out yet. The custom government
thing is really awful. The tech tree and map both feel to small
too.

Just as an FYI I only get to the Classical era before getting
beaten by barbarians or other Civs.
