Can already tell you that such agreements would most likely not be legal in
Germany. Reason being that courts have made it repeatedly clear that you
can resell what you have bought/own, either as whole or in parts. That's
also why you can sell OEM copies of software individually without also
having to the sell the hardware that came with it. The same probably
applies to the entire EU.

I'm not familiar with US law at all, but would it actually be illegal in
the US to forbid reselling of software merely if the EULA says so? Or is
that a matter of state law, not federal law?
