Sounds like a potent setup ...good for any thing...any of the current games will be fine.
Sounds like this model ?? http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668210.php#techspecs Yes ??

A few thoughts:
Consider is this Vista 32 bit or 64 Bit ?...its apparently 64 bit ..you CAN use more than 3 Gig Mem with 64 bit & that Video card...but there's no point in any more mem anyway.
Good to have in the future...this is a good future-proof as can be machine.
There comment Re. DDR3 equaling smaller amounts of DDR2 is nonsense.

You have no mention of the monitor...very important. The Graphic card you will
want & need depends to a large extent on how high you want to set the
screen resolution ...
The Power supply SHOULD fine ...they say 500w ...its as much as about quality as quantity.
Forget the " 2 Graphic Cards working together thing" is just a VERY expensive way
of using an awful lot of money & system resources & power for very little improvement.

I have NVIDIA now but used to have ATI cards for many years before..
The ATI drivers / control panel is much the better.

Yes, Trimble, that is the one. I still didn't pick it up cause they're making the recovery disks. You mentioned their comment concerning the memory is nonsense. I was wondering about that. Two of the people told me that yesterday, and today I said I should by more memory and 2 of the techs said that was plenty, like 6G of DDR2. Oh well, I guess I'll find out. If it doesn't seem speedy enough, I'll get more. But probably anything will look speedy to me compared to my 7-year old computer. One review I read about it said that people won't like the color scheme, but I think it looks pretty neat! I bought the enhanced version of Witcher, and Gothic 3 that came in a box with Dungeon Lords (already have that one) and Loki. Can't wait to start playing!!

I'm with Trimble there, really don't understand what they are saying about memory... A gig is a gig is a gig, typically... heh.

Although, if you compare prices, 6 gigs of DDR2 are probably about the same as 3 gigs of DDR3, maybe that's what they have in their head. More memory is usually better, up to the point of 3 gigs, then it becomes an issue of whether you have the 64 bit operating system to use beyond that.

I'd say your configuration is going to work fabulously for what you want, and it's always easy to change the memory around later - plus, DDR3 memory will be dropping in price constantly as it becomes more widely used in the industry...

Oh, and be sure to peruse through some of the past posts here (if you can) regarding Gothic 3, I know there have been suggestions and tips that helped as far as patching and performance configurations... It'll help you get the best performance out of your new toy.
