I don't think it would be that difficult, as you leave you get the
opportunity to recreate your character anyway. Heck you can just make
one save right before you leave the vault and then reload it and
change your character to whatever you want.
And that makes me wonder why they didn't make the whole start of the game
optional. I guess their "life in vault" portrait had too much artistic value to
*allow* their customers to miss it.
This is exactly the kind of design philsophy that needs to die. The whole
"games as art" crowd behaves like this. They make *watching* their high-minded
concept a mandatory part of the gameplay. Yuck.
The gamer-auteur should be burned at the stake. <G>
Dude, I sat through a 20 minute (no ***, I timed it!) intro cut scene with FarCry2 just a couple days ago. Just a cab driver driving you around in a Jeep from place to place talkin about the motherland & who's up who this week. There was no way to skip it, so I don't intend on a 2nd pass of the game unless there's some way to skip it with the console or a hack, seriously.
Timeshift OTOH, now there's a novel, well presented fps, if a little "BTDT".
Looking forward to trying Dead Space as well - everything I read & hear sounds very promising.
Was just walking around a local store yesterday and saw there is a Dead Space DVD, supposedly a prequel movie to show what happened prior to the beginning of Dead Space... Sounds like cinematics are a big deal for this title.
