More techno-wankerism from NVidia to pull the wool over the eyes of dumb
sheep. Pfft.
I'd agree that PhysX is way over rated, but what else has NV done to get your goat? I'm personally video card brand agnostic, but I know some people don't like ATI or NVidia for various reasons.
They should run a "In Bed with Intel" slogan for starters and that's just the tip of the worst practices iceberg. They pulled a lot of stunts over the years & produced some really crappy lines of products, except with MS-style marketing & hype ppl lapped it up & funded their rise to dominance. Didn't help that 3DFX & ATI have screwed themselves with bad decisions at key milestones in the vidcard race & pretty much handed the sceptre to NVidia who are almost at the point of a monopoly now. Which is why I won't buy their crap on principal. ATI still make decent h/ware & I've preferred their packaging & auxiliary device support for a long time, in spite of appearing to be a bit behind in frames-per-sec wankerism right now. Do I really give a rat's arse if your card does 70fps & mine only 60 when the quality of image & app support is there (& better imo)...? Pfft.

Having a budget gaming machine, I'm drooling over possibly splurging on the outstanding price-to-performance of an 8800 GT for about $150 after mailin (about 1/3 of what I paid for my entire current machine), including a free copy of Witcher that I've been dying to get. So right now I'm liking NVidia alot. :-)
A high class hooker might give you the best blowjob & even give you a discount initially, just so she can charge top dollar down the track & give mediocre can't-get-outta-there-quick-enough lip service, once she's got you reeled in hook, line & sinker. Kinda like marriage... <EG>

3DFX... that brings back memories. Sold a kidney for my first card, I think. Totally worth it. :-)

I remember playing Dark Forces 2 - Jedi Knight, and switching to 3dfx
mode - Lord, what a difference in made.

I popped my cherry with a Riva128ZX (?) on Lara Croft *blush*. Oh well, there's worse titles to lose your 3D virginity with I guess :)

I still lament that DN3D was never upgraded to 'proper' 3D back in its day. Still the best software 3D engine ever imo.
