Amen! I got an older game called Prisoner of War by Codemasters.
I thought it was a bit like Thief, and it does involve a lot of
thinking
and bypassing guards and no combat, stuff like that. But all the
missions were timed, and the times were just way too short for
me. I'd be watching for patrol patterns and then it'd be morning
before I got very far and the mission would fail. Gah.
