Werner,

Sorry to break in on the happy conversation, but it does seem that the
VTMB mods might be getting a little out of control.

Agreed. I'm hoping Werner will decide to make 4.9 his pre-final patch and
playtest the hell out of it before releasing his final 5.0 patch. I'm
certainly more than willing to help the effort.

Any chance of
stopping futher significant changes and you and your friends just
checking that everything to date is correctly "connected" ? MJB seems
to be making a sterling attempt at burrowing into the guts looking for
loose ends.

<shy smile>

I'm doing my very best. Thanks for noticing.

He has the advantage of an implicit "monkey
on ther typewriter" approach to bug-finding since he is far distant
from any knowledge of the game's internal structure.

I've also got fourteen years experience as a main-frame programmer, just as
many as a trainer of computer users for software plus I've been designing
miniature wargaming rules for nearly thirty years - so I'd like to think
I've progressed past the 'monkey' stage. I'm at least at the bonobo stage
of tprogram testing and development....

It is rather
difficult for those close to a program's design/modification to be
effective bug-hunters, unless they truly have an alter-ego that
deliberately wants to smash down the other's creation and comes up
with malicious ways of wrecking the edifice.

You... you make that sound like a BAD thing... you know, the 'smashing' and
'malicious' and the 'wrecking' bit...

<grin>

I just like to think of it as hard testing... you know, like a thirteen-year
old with ADD is capable of.
