So what games do you have wasting space on your hard drive
that you can't bring yourself to uninstall, but which you just don't
seem to ever be in the right mood for? How many of you are weird like
me and do this?
For Me:
Bioshock - Installed. Want to play it. Have played like an
hour into it. But whenever I"m in an FPS mood, UT3 is the one I start
up. Shooting an NPC in the face isn't as satisfying as shooting an
player controlled character in the face. => I should probably just
uninstall this one.
True, although I'd say its worth of more than an hour gameplay. I
kind of enjoyed the environments, yet at the same time don't really
crave to go back (I never finished it).
CoD4 - Same as above, though I really should try its MP. As a
general rule for myself though, I won't do MP ina game until after
I've finished it in SP. Maybe I should break that rule this time
around.
Tragic because the MP is better... although once you reach level 55
the allure wears off.
Guild Wars + all expansions - I have played it a bunch in the
past, but I'm kind of MMO'd out lately. Luckily, there's no monthly
fee, and I have the room on my HDD, so I leave it on so that its ready
to go when the whim grabs me. The whim just hasn't been doing that
for a while is all.
Stopped playing that ages ago.
The Witcher - technical problems are what keep me from
playing. Had great fun for the first few hours of the game, ran
perfectly, looked awesome, not even any chugginess, but then suddenly
saving games causes it to crash. Can continue play so long as I don'
t ever try to save a game. Appearantly its a common prob for my
graphics card in combination w/vista.
What vid card? I do find it slightly buggy, but very enjoyable. I'm
not even really an RPG person but something like Oblivion or Witcher
does inspire me to keep playing. The Witcher is a nice game even for
all its bugs.
Oblivion - this is the only one that makes both the list of
'games installed that I don't play' and 'games i"m currently playing'.
I do play it, like for one sitting, like once a month, but its more
out of stubborness now than interest. I think I should probably just
uninstall it.
I thought it was well done enough to finish the main quest... after
that I didn't load it again and didn't bother with expansions.. maybe
I should...
Witcher is probably a better game for anyone looking for a slightly
more mature theme, it does make a difference in your enjoyment when
you're over 30. When I play a game like Oblivion, I can't help but
think it would pull me in more if the overall world was a little more
my age. The Witcher (uncensored version) actually did this fairly
tastefully, allowing the player to be involed in some experiences that
would be reasonably expected of anything older than a 12 year old
child. Probably more than any other game this year, the Witcher left
a lasting impression on me. I will definately buy their sequel if
they chose to put one out.
As far as what I keep playing, TeamFortress2 is an amazing online
game. Recently I also got a friend involed in FEAR multiplayer (free
download) which still has a compelling CTF game.
Earlier I downloaded audio surf, and it was interesting in the fact
that it gets you playing to the sound of songs you already like. I'm
not sure if it will be a long term keeper or not, we'll see.
