4:3 games on 5:4 monitors - good or bad?

Like to get a 19" TFT monitor. Reading the specs I see most have a
native resolution of 1280x1024, which is 5:4. However, I would like
to play older Windows 98 based rpgs. Will they look good or bad on a
5:4 screen?

Thanks, regards, Robert.
