| Just go get one of those curved new Dell monitors and one up him!

Heh... Yah, I'd come across that one too... Look on Gizmodo for some more
details pics, including the ridiculous depth of the unit (since it is a DLP,
not a curved LCD). And as far as the resolution, I'll be sporting the 2880
x 900 resolution myself when I pop my second 19" widescreen on my desktop.
There's just that pesky strip of plastic in the middle... Of course, I
could always do what a buddy of mine did and rip the guts out of 2
widescreen monitors, then put them in a little custom-created case with a
slight bend in the center and the LCD screens so close there is just a tiny
strip between the 2, but I don't have the kind of free time he does... Or
the money, or the laser cutter, etc. Ah well, a guy can dream.

Personally, I'm curious to see how the OLED units end up. I've already seen
practical applications of curved OLED screens, once they get the whole
lifespan issue stabilized, they will take over. Already seeing them in
mobile applications (due to the much lower power consumptions and
elimination of the need for backlighting). Within a few years, that curved
DLP unit (which uses 4 different screen sections internally) will probably
be replaced by a single curved OLED screen that is super thin and extremely
lightweight.
