enjoyed an CRPG as much since Dungeon Master on the Atari ST. Some of
the tedium in BG I, walking across large basically empty maps, was
really quite bad looking back on it but I was hooked on the game for
many many hours.
I think I am the only one who liked those wilderness areas. I have
never seen anyone actually admit to liking them anyway.
Personally, it was the actual city of Baldur's Gate that bored me.
Walking into what seemed like an endless number of houses to find
nothing but equally endless numbers of commoners. Ugh. Cities were
handled much better in the sequel.
