Actually the Deed system is very useful for making your character more powerful. I'm a level 31 Guardian and the most important stats to me are fate (regenerate morale and power in battle), vitality (regenerate morale out of battle) and will (regenerate power out of battle). Fate can keep me in a battle for a very long time, and the other two get me back into battle very quickly. The virtues to use to increase those are Empathy, Honor, Loyalty, Wisdom and Idealism. I've bumped up many of those virtues by doing the Deeds that give me a +1 to those particular virtues. I'm pretty much ignoring all of the other Deeds that don't directly affect those virtues. I figure when I'm level 50 and bored I'll go back and try to complete all of the Deeds just to say I did.

Now THAT is useful information and not something I've been able to find easily elsewhere. Albiet I haven't look extremely hard yet.

I could see that taking some of the pain out of the game, only go for what you need. It's actually very logical but didn't occur to me... I see something that needs completing and I feel the need to complete it :) My guardian spent a long time getting rank 2 Zeal for instance... why I asked myself? I will never equip this trait. Thanks for the tip John.

One other question if I may. As a Guardian don't you find that your wound resistance stats important at all? So far the ones I've been running around with all give me wound resistance and vitality mostly.

I freely admit that I do NOT know the best way to play a Guardian or any other character. I've only played a Guardian and I've only concentrated on the fate, vitality and will stats. (Since I think the purpose of the Guardian is to hang in the fight as long as possible and be able to go to the next fight as quickly as possible, I've been concentrating on that.) I've often wondered if I'm doing the wrong thing and should be concentrating on something like "might" instead. But there just isn't any way to know without actually playing a character that way... and all of my time is spent just trying to get my Guardian to 35 so I can get a horse!

Someday I hope someone puts together a guide to the best way to play each character. Or maybe I'll find some level 50 Guardians someday who are willing to tell me what stats they concentrated on.
