What RPG were you initially wrong about?

I just google searched for my name in this NG and found one of my
first posts. Back in August 2003 I asked for RPG recommendations and
said the following about Wizardry 8 -

'Gave up after 45 minutes due to several 15 minute battles
with rats in the first dungeon. Not my cup of tea.'

I went back and played Wiz 8 about 6 months after that post and I
would now rank it somewhere in the middle of my top 10.

Has anyone else played a RPG and initially disliked it, only to play
it later and really like it?
