LotRO reinstall from DVD

From what I understand from what I've read if I uninstall the beta version and reinstall the game from the DVD, my character and password and all that will still be fine, right? I don't have cutscene movies which I want and I read on the LotRO FAQ somewhere that the game will probably run more smoothly and stuff after uninstalling beta and reinstalling from DVD. I just want to be sure I will be okay after doing it. I've read quite a bit about it here but haven't found anywhere that says it's the right thing to do. I'm loving this game. I want the *BEST* out of it! ;-)
