I already have some bound items, heck, the founder gifts are bound.
But when I found some nice boots and was about to equip them I got a
warning about "do I want to bind these items to me". I just want to
make sure they mean the 'item will only be usable by me' and not
'haha you can never remove those boots sucker'. It just seemed odd
since I didn't get a warning on my other bound items.
Oh yeah, I saw one of those giant trees. Yikes. :)
Yes, bind on equip means that you can't trade, give or sell the item to any
other player character--you can, however, sell it to an NPC vendor. It
doesn't mean once you put it on, there it stays forever--thank goodness.
:-)
Most quest items are "bind on acquire", which means all you have to do is
accept them--doesn't matter if you wear them or not, the above applies
regarding sell/trade/giving to other PCs.
Okay, that's what I figured but that little warning made me nervous. I've
invested all my time into one character and don't want to hamstring him
with some boneheaded move this early in the game.
