Alrighty. Yesterday was the first official release day and I was able to
play around a bit.

SERVERS AND QUEUES: What the heck? The game used to just load instantly.
Now It takes several minutes (not an exaggeration). Then I pick the
server and Elendilmere is one of the four with wait times. Then I am
queued and wait half a minute, then there is a two to five minute wait
before I can pick my character and start. Wah! Is this just because of
all the new customers and will it fade back over time?

LEVELS: Sheesh! I am mainly playing a L14 hunter but could see some
L19s, some 20s and some in the mid to high 20s already. Do I suck as a
player or what? Granted I am not rushing around and am doing a lot of
exploring (maybe beta testers have all seen and done that so now they're
just rushing up). It seems it took a day to go from L1 to L9, another
day from L9 to L13, another day for L14, and I have been L14 for three
days now, still a ways from L15.

LAG/CRASHES: I experienced two tiny bouts with lag during beta, only one
that was bad. Last night there were many laggy places (especially in
Bree around the Prancing Pony). Twice my character froze and the client
crashed to desktop. Once it just crashed without the character lock up
-- just *crash* and the "Do you want to tell Microsoft about this
problem?" message.

Now, with the negative taken care of, I have to say that overall I am
impressed with how the game still generally works like a charm. There is
no observable difference between beta and live with the exception of the
extra players. Some areas are being heavily farmed and campers abound
but nothing that's stopping me from having fun.

Comments from others?

I had two crashes today too and a lag death (apparently). Yeah, I hope
it smooths out but the wait hasn't been *too* long.

Have no fear, I have 5 chars, most around 10...I'm just moseying along
I supposed :) Oh and my hunter is only level 11 but I've decided it's
about time to stop haunting the darn ruins(they are usually pillaged
of texts) and finish some quests.
