Do you mean the Monster Play is an inadequate kind of PvP? Not challenging

From what I have read about it, it seems to be a mere "just for fun"
activity. The PvP system of WoW offered access to special "titles" and
ranks, items, and even different types of mounts. The competition was much

That's exactly what LOTRO offers & more. Plus you get to play as a Monster

like a sports event, though time investment counted for more than "skill".
That doesn't made it "healthier", but I think it did give people very
specific goals (an item, a rank, a mount) to work towards to. There
were/are plenty of flaws with Blizzard's honour and arena system, and it
took them long, perhaps too long, to address some earlier issues.

So, what did WoW have as far as PvP goes, day 1...? :-p

Challenging my opinion is perfectly all right! It only is an opinion, equal
to all other opinions out there. When I criticise LOTRO (or rather, express
that I don't feel that it's a significant step up from WoW or a step in the
direction I would like MMORPGs to go), I am not criticising those who enjoy
the game, and I'm not saying that it isn't a fun and enjoyable game. I just
don't feel it has anything to offer to *me* that would justify the time and
money investment.

We understand. I'd be *very* concerned if everyone was jumping on the
bandwagon like they did with WoW. It's actually a sign that this is a better
game with a much healthier crowd. You can't have it both ways Michael <G>.
I'm just sorry you're not in it with us & leave all those BNet bastards
behind in WoW, as you already have. Maybe some therapy will open yer eyes
all the way to how you've been had...? ;-p *duck*
