They apparently did change some of the spell effects to some degree. All
the spells have a bit of an initial hit, but the main thing is still DoT
as you say, and to get the most from them you have to use your buffing
spells, too. Plus, there's the debuffing spells you need to use to slow
down/weaken the enemy, as well as manage your pet. There's simply a whole
lot of management issues with playing the Loremaster, that as I mentioned
above, might be a bit overwhelming to a complete MMO novice.

However, I enjoyed playing one more than anything else, so if I can muddle
through, then anybody can. :-)

I may have to lean to the Minstrel bit after reading Wolfing and this post.

If I do run with either class which Race would you recommend?

Charge 6 adds 550AP to it's next attack (which can buff Growl as well when soloing) to go along with the 1 second stun and the only way to get anything higher than Gore 8 is via Rip-Blade Ravager in Blade's Edge.. ... i just go out and find a beast that has more than my current pet. ...
