Hi Nostromo

Hopefully I shall get a letter of greetings tomorrow as I joined through
Game Spot
well, I 'hope' I did get joined for the Beta.

Still do not have the Game installed or it's "client" ? Not sure how to
go about
getting the "client"? Can you please advise?

You need to hurry if you want to be there at kick-off, early afternoon
30th US EST from what they're saying on forums. You can get the open beta
client from:

Better hurry - it's over 4Gb in total! ;)

We should all exchange charnames here (assuming we want to of course
;) - I
may start a list soon after it goes retail. We could even create a
csipgr
kinship (guild) if there's enough interest.

I am interested! Shing Lieha is as well.

Your character or wife, he, he?

have no idea what type of character to play but will be open minded to
any group
that has a 'hole' that needs filling by an beginner. <grin> Heck it is
only a game,
right?

Don't let them catch you saying that online! ;)
Hey, there's only 4 races & 7 classes to pick from, so it shouldn't be be
a big deal - just play whatever tickles yer fancy from the descriptions.

Here's a good starting place to brush up on the game:

Well, as I hear it the RPG was only a genre because of the limitations
of technology at the time. RPGs were really trying to be FPSs all
along. "RPG - The Accidental Genre." - markB 24/3

Have it 'and' a DVD from a GameStop store. Thanks for the heads up.

Do you think I should overwrite the downloaded one with the DVD from
the store?

I still an not sure which RACE or type of CLASS to choose as I am
more of a "Fun" player and would be glad to support a group as (?)
class and race.

Can you advise which might be the most asked for Race/Class from
within the game? That might give me a heads up on groups of players
or whatever that would appreciate having a, "Venerable Leader" so
has been mentioned by so fellow in this newsgroup.

As in any MMO, LotRO is no exception. You will be inundated by group
invitations if you're a healer, and in LotRO's case, that role is the
minstrel. While loremasters and captains can heal in a lesser degree,
groups will always want a minstrel when tackling the hardest areas
(even if they're not really necessary many times, but groups usually
want to play it safe)
