Interesting, I guess the Steam version installs unpacked (i.e. not all
in one GCF) so that the myriad downloadable game update packs, mods, and
scripts can be used.

StarForce put me off X3, but I may just have to try it now it's on Steam
(although retail can be patched before running to block SF from being
installed).

I'm a big fan of games like Elite, Descent:Freespace, I-War:Edge of
Chaos, etc, do you think I'll like it ?
