Thanks very much arccos...Lots of detailed just what I need to know..If you are looking for a free MMORPG to kick start your online adventure, I
The "not really for newbies" comment probebly settles it at NOT for me..
I am not at all sure I am going to get into any of the Massive Online RPG
things at all..
I have a copy of World Of Warcraft ..but no account...I think I will try
this on some of the private servers to decide.
I'm starting to feel my RPG taste is limited to Morrowind/Oblivion &
Gothic maybe KOTOR ...Once an Action gamer allways so perhaps.
Thanks Mouse

would suggest you take a look at Risk Your Life (RYL) 2: Incomplete Union,
Malaysia server. I heard it is hosted in the US (if you are in the US area),
but not sure if it is free or not. There are 2 RYL games hosted in Mlaysia,
RYL: Road to the Emporer and RYL2: Incomplete Union. I'm only sure RYL2:IU
is free, since I have left RYL:RttE long ago and never check back with it.
RYL2:IU is actually RYL Part 2 instead of a complete sequal of RYL:RttE.
That means RYL2 is actually using the same engine, same playing structure
(they modded some of the Class and Job setting in RYL2 though), with a
diffrent world and different story. In RYL:RttE, the two races, Akkan(Demon
like creature, sometime refered as the "Orcs" by some "traditional" players)
and the Human starts and plays in two different world and maps, they only
meet each other in the Arena, which is essentially a PK field. In RYL2:IU,
both Akkan and Human starts in the same map, The Land of Almighty, a land
controlled by a group of pirates. From what I understand, RYL2:IU's story
took place after the story of RYL:RttE, and som catastrophic event took
place and changed the relation of Akkan and Human. The two clans can still
fight each other during Race War (twice a day 8-10 am/pm +8GMT time).
The graphics is nice, pretty detailed if you have a GeFroce4 equivalent or
higher display card. The game is much noob friendly as it has a series of
quests/missions to guide you through your noobhood. If you are interested,
visit www.ryl2.com.my
Bring your friends along, since it's more fun to play in a group (I'm not
working with that company anyway). However this game is highly solo-able.
I've got to level 68 (max lv100, or lv99, is what I understand).
Another note, though the game is free, they still have to make a living,
through selling online game points, which you could purchase with your
credit card/paypal, and these points can be used to buy some high grade in
game weapon and armors. It is permanent purchase, not rental like some other
shitty MMORPG with virtual items. This means you are free to do what you
like with those purchased items, not having to fear it will be lost in 3 or
7 days if you did not renew the rental. Any way, the game is still playable
(in fact the game just plays normally) even if you never ever purchased any
virtual items. Purchasing of virtual items is just used to upgrade your
equipments to the very rare AA and AAA grade (you still can purchase in game
item with in game gold, up to B grade, and later enchant them to A grade,
but it's hard to get beyond that point without purchasing the virtual
products). This game is the closest to ABSOLUTELY FREE as long as you
restrict yourself to purchasing the virtual products.
