DS2: Medallion question

I know people aren't playing Dungeon Siege 2 any more, but I got side
tracked by school and work. Here's my problem. It seems as if I've mis-
placed Drevin's medallion. Is it critial down the road? Do I need to start
over? Or can I continue on?
