I've been eyeing Guild Wars ever since it first came out, and now
that the expansion's been released, I've been thinking about getting
into the game a bit. I've read some reviews, and they were all
uniformly good. But I was wondering what people who've actually
played the game thought about it. This group has always been good for
that sort of thing.
I guess a summary of my gaming habits is in order...
Games I've liked:
Zork, Morrowind, Oblivion, Baldur's Gate (1 & 2), Torment, Total
Annihilation, KotOR (1 & 2), Warcraft III, MDK2, Dungeon Siege II,
F.E.A.R., The Sims II, Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Halo,
Solitaire.
Games I din't like:
Diablo II, EverQuest, Anarchy Online, Counterstrike: Condition Zero,
plus a bunch who's names I've forgotten...
I've heard that Guild Wars, besides having a really good PvP
component, also has close to 100 hours of single player (and
cooperative) action RPG story to play through. Is it any good?
Considering that I completely despise Guild Wars, and you have plenty of
games on your "like" list I didn't--Morrowind, Warcraft in any iteration,
and the shooters FEAR and Halo, and whatever the hell MDK2 was--and that the
only game on your "dislike" list I've played--Diablo 2--is probably my
favorite of all time . . . well, there's a pretty good chance IMO that you
very well might enjoy Guild Wars. :-)
