Looks like I'm off to buy a new graphics card, and some more RAM, and
possibly a new power supply!

Be sure and do some research before getting a graphics card. the industry
unfortunately likes to label crap cards with 'fast sounding' names similar
to the good cards. Read several hardware reviews and make note of the exact
model number when you find a good one. I went with the GeForce 6800GS and
have been very pleased.
