Never played Heretic 2 or Max Payne I guess. 3rd person can be great for
shooters if they do it right.

Both would've been better in first person.
Third person makes the game easier by giving the player a birds view,
mainly to help out console players as they're playing with their
slow-ass gamepads and would have difficulty in first person view, but
destroys immersion in the process.

If done right third person is OK, even though it kills immersion. If
done normal or bad, it's just crap.
