It's funny for the same reason that watching prudish people go into a
tizzy over an ancient statue showing nip' is funny. That someone might
have so much emotional investment over something that is usually so
inconsequential is what makes observing the reactions amusing I'd
speculate. It doesn't take much effort or time to utter a phrase that
will get people rilled up so it isn't sapping trolls and agitators of
time they'd rather spend elsewhere. Kanye West surely didn't spend
hours arranging his infamous claim that "George Bush doesn't care about
black people" but it sure made a stir.
