In CoH/CoV you can solo all missions you take, regardless of how gimped
your character may be (unless it has an archvillain in it). But most
people group up (I group 100% of the time, if I can't find a group I
start one myself), it is much (but MUCH) more fun, and in most cases
it's better exp. With such a variety of
archetypes/powersets/powers/enhancements, each mission you take in a
group is a thrilling experience. Sure you sometimes get into a sucky
group, but in my long experience with the game, you get 1 bad for 3 ok
and 2 good, so chances are you're fine. And if you add as friends the
peopel you meet in the 'good' groups, next time you play just check
your friend list and ask those online to form a group or join their
group.
