For the past 7 months or so, I've been jamming with 5 other guys in my town - we're all 40-somethings and have been playing a bunch of covers, mostly late 60s-early 70s rock, with no particular plans for playing out anywhere. ... But after a several months of getting together every week or so, a performance opportunity presented itself, namely an annual "talent show" at my church where members get up and sing, dance, tell stories, etc. Typical low-key family friendly stuff. ... We don't have a band PA - but managed to rig up a small mixer into a pair of stereo speakers and the church's PA system (which is not exactly built for rock and roll) and pair of small monitors. ...
