If you fix a bug, you're not changing how the game is SUPPOSED to look
and/or play.

That's why I included the line you snipped about the developers
themselves doing mods in their patches - but since it's their game and
they have the final say about how it's "supposed" to be, that's still a
patch unless they label it otherwise.

If you MODify something, you're doing a mod.

If you're bug fixing, you're doing a patch, you're FIXING something
that's supposed to work so that it does.

Now all that said, I commend you for your work, but it really should be
labeled as a mod or bugfix/mod since you are modifying the game.
