Yes, I got it started and stuck after a few levels, but I will have to
get a walkthrough. I played the game before, but not for a long time
can't remember how to do some tasks. Its a fun game.

I don't know why the DVD rom wouldn't work with dosbox. I tried it a few
times and it just came up with a blank black screen and then did
nothing. So for me at least, the DVD rom drive won't work with the game.
By the way, what software do you use to run movies on your DVD rom? Is
it free? I prefer to watch movies lying on my couch, but I might watch
some here and there if I had software to run on my DVD rom but I
wouldn't pay a lot for it, since its not something I have a great desire
to do, but would be handy.

Not that I know of, unless my cdrom is a SCSI drive, though it doesn't
show up as that anywhere.

Well, I am not sure why I need ASPI to run Dosbox. But it says something
about if you are running Win32 you need it.

I know what you mean. When you are not using certain programs regularly,
and only run them once in a while, you forget what you did before. When
I have to reformat my drive, even though I've done it quite a few times
and made lots of notes, it still takes me a while to remember how to
format and do partitions.

I can't agree with you completely. Its true that the solution was
nothing that difficult. However, understanding why and what I was doing,
WAS difficult, so I can't say it was easy. Its what I said at the
beginning, everything is easy when you know how. AT least if anyone who
wanted to know how Dosbox worked but don't like to ask a lot of
questions like I did, in case they look too dumb, they should know how
it works now after I maybe made myself look dumb and asked every
question there is about dosbox but thats the only way to learn and if
you look dumb, well as long as you learn, so what?.

If you only knew all the reckless things I used to do with the registry,
deleting this and changing that and getting into some awful messes, and
had to reformat my drive to get rid of the mess. That used to happen a
lot and my daughter used to say that she would never try the things I do
because she wouldn't know what she was doing, and I said I didn't
either, and thats how I got into the messes in the first place :) - and
sometimes even when I backed up the registry before I fiddled with
things, if I got into a mess and put back the registry backup, it
doesn't always work.
You wouldn't believe some of the messes I used to get into because I
wasn't afraid to try things. However, these days I only change configs
and registry entries as long as I take notes and can change it back the
way it was and have a good idea what I am doing. I am not so anxious
nowadays to format my drive and go through all that reinstalling again
which takes hours. With Dosbox config, you have to know what you are
doing and not type in wrong stuff or thats not much good. Its more or
less programming commands, and not everybody knows about these things.

Not right now thanks :)

I am not so sure what you mean. What was the drive letter between the a
and the e ?
What did the instructions say? I thought it looked like they should be
mounting c instead of d. LOL and thats what I asked Rikard in a related
matter, in my message to him earlier tonight.

I thought that meant to mount c c:\ that it means you are mounting the
c: which is the primary hard drive. isn't that what that c means?
(That's why I think the

I agree that they assume you already know certain things. I found that
they miss out important small things in the instructions which throws
out everything and they could be more clear in their instructions..
I can't see why the hard drive letters would be different unless you are
installing the game on c, but playing it on d (either another hard
drive, or partitioned present drive).

Maybe, but I've had enough of that kind of adventuring for now :)

Yes, you did, but I didn't find it easy as you seem to think. Once I
understood the whole concept it was easier, but that takes time with my
brain and its the only one I have. Its slow at times at figuring some
things out. Also, I was on the verge of giving up as I was getting very
frustrated and like you said too, in the beginning we tried to
concentrate on the sound card, because of no sound and the reason there
was no sound was the game ran from the hard drive because it was
installed there, but I didn't have the cdrom mounted until you told me
that was the problem. Then it took more time to figure out that I had to
put -apsi. By the way, the game also works with "mount f: f:\ -t
cdrom -usecd 0 - apsi " - I just tried it this afternoon, but it also
works without the -usecd0 part.
> Now, go mess with some goblins.
Yes, the goblins are waiting. Thanks for all your suggestions. You
really went out of your way.
