I have had many injuries over the years and have been able to
resolve most of them, but one particularly stubborn one is an
ulnar nerve problem that was originally a jiu-jitsu injury, but
seems to really get aggravated by gaming. I noticed this more
recently after playing Tribes Ascend, which for whatever reason
makes me play more intensely, putting increased downward
pressure on my wrist and fingers on the keyboard. So, if anyone
has some specific advice on ways to combat issues with their
keyboarding hand (my mousing hand currently fares better,
thankfully), it might be of particular interest to my case, but
of course all gaming related issue discussions welcome.
Try various wrist braces. I usually put up with a little wrist
discomfort, but when things get bad and I need to continue anyway,
I put on the wrist brace. Of course it feels uncomfortable and
awkward, but think of it as a discipline. You will get used to it.
You write well. If you have a good speaking voice, try Dragon
NaturallySpeaking. If necessary, train your voice until a stupid
computer can understand what you say. I use voice for dictation
and computer control, as much as possible.
