Bought this for £3 for a little simple FPS playing. Plays fine for ten minutes in Vista 64 but then suddenly turns into a literal slideshow. Task manager shows it maxing out one of the CPU cores and using an amazing 3gig of memory. Maybe a memory leak. Anyone know any solutions? Doesn't seem to be a patch or anything.

I had a similar problem - the game would just slow to a crawl of 15fps. But I don't remember having any CPU spike and definitely not any memory issues. My problem was well known, and disabling USB devices did the trick. I would go into device manager and disable a bunch of the "HID" devices that were listed and that did the trick. (I vaguely remember that disabling them did no harm to the system; they were like phantom devices or something and weren't necessary). I think I only remember this being a problem for FEAR and the earlier expansions, but not Perseus mandate, so you mileage may vary.

I just did google and found the following...

That seems to have worked just fine thanks!

I've played PM about 3 times now. Really enjoyed it for it's no nonsense straight shooter appeal.

yeah, I enjoyed the two previous but the reviews for this one were disappointing. For £3 though I couldn't resist. Having a blast so far.
