Thanks for the tips guys...Bummer, but no crashes here. Are you overheating somewhere? Warhead
I got past where I was stuck, but in an inadvertant sort of way. I
got so frustrated yesterday that I decided to just take off in the
opposite direction, backtracking from where I came (or thought I did).
Eventually as I started hitting new checkpoints, I realize I was
covering new ground. Staying on that path long enough took me to the
tunnel entrance where an interesting battle ensues.
Unfortunately well into that battle, the game decided to drop out to
the desktop. :(
All in all I'm enjoying this more than the original Crysis so far, but
it definately still has some of the same frustration factor with
regard to level design, the map system, etc. Maybe my sense of
direction is a little worst than most, but I have no problems
navigating and finding my way around in most FPS and RPG type games.
The difference between this and the original Crysis is that I seem to
be more motivated to come back and pick up where I left off whenever I
get stuck or one of the stupid crashes occurs (it's done that about 4
times in the last 3 days).
does have its moments when you don't know where to go. I've seen two so
far - the one that you mentioned and previously in the hovercraft...
side effect of overheating? I haven't really been monitoring temps..
I always thought full system lockups were the side effect of that.
I believe overheating graphics cards or dodgy memory can cause CTD's as
well as just crashing the whole lot like overheating CPU's do. I
suggest this because (though I haven't done a search) its the first
suggestion of a bug like this I've seen in the game. Unless someone
knowledgable comes along (I'm not) its a Googling you must go.... what
gfx card do you have?
Single 8800GTX. Looks like it's running about 83c during gaming. bad?
I now have an ATI but IIRC the 8800's normally ran at 80-90 during load
without a problem...
Just noticed there are some helpfiles (including for crashes) in the
following directory (yours may be slightly different.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis WARHEAD\Support\EA
Help\en-uk
If not, its google I'm afraid. Good luck
Thanks, I may look into it.. So far it's been infrequent enough that
it's not really killing my enjoyment of the game or anything.
