I haven't seen GTR Evolution but if you like racing, you must get
Grid. Trust me, you'll be blown away by it. You can get it over
Steam too.

Hate to sound pretentious and all but Grid is an arcade racer and
GTR Evo is a simulation. Many people who like GTR Evo type of
games do not like Grid, Need For Speed, etc. Some like both but in
general sim racers do not care for games like Grid much because
the physics are too fogiving and unrealistic. I remember I bought
that arcade racer NFS Porshce Unleashed because people kepts
saying it was good. It was too arcade for me and I spent all of 1
hour playing it and then shelved it. It was a waste of my money.

Yeah, actually I tried GRID. My favorite part of the driving
simulation realism aspect is how the wheels interact with the road
(I guess that's the major part). I recall Atari's Race Driving as
similar to GTR but Race Driving required power sliding around the
turns for the fastest times. I once rolled the car completely over
and began to drive away before the game restarted. Power sliding is
a blast IMO even if it's uncommon for most racing. I bought Richard
Burns Rally too, but haven't installed it yet.

Obviously a steering wheel helps, probably much more than a yoke
helps for flight simulation.

FWIW. As the advertising says, apparently the retail box GTR
Evolution for $20 (US) at most stores builds on Race 07. To me it
looks like a familiar stand-alone expansion pack that's sold as a
new product. There is no indication of the inclusion of Race 07 on
the box, on the CD, or in options during installation. But there is
something about it in the reading during installation "Together with
the content of Race 07...". And in the actual game there are these
options when getting ready to play:

R-Cade Extreme
Race Event
Championship
Additional Events

(the first two options above include all four of these suboptions)
2007
2006
GTR Evo
