Devil May Cry 4 won't start

Any one else have this problem (and got it fixed)?

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 (not 3).

There error I am getting when trying to run the game is something
like:

D#DERR_INVALIDCALL: mpD3D -> CreatedDevice(mD3DDeviceType,........ it
goes on forever

I am installed and am trying to run the DirectX9c version of the game.

Any ideas? I can not find a patch or any support at CapCom-unity.com
