It depends on your mobo BIOS. If you have a
recent "upgradeable" mobo, then no. But if
you have one of the AMD 3200 to 3800 mobos,
then you might have to first upgrade the BIOS.
Simple thing is to hit Cntl-Alt-Del and look to
see if there are 2 cpus being displayed. If so,
then you are good to go.

There's my problem - I installed all the AMD dual-core stuff, (driver,
optimizer), and two CPU's show up in the Device Manager (two AMD 3800+
ACIP), but in the Task Manager, it only shows one CPU graph (yes, I have
selected to show one graph per CPU).
Is there any other way to test if two CPU's are running besides the Task
Manager? Does it looks like I'll have to reinstall Windows XP?

OK, I just tried re-installing the AMD stuff - making sure to do the
drivers first then the optimizer - I think I get 2 graphs now in Task
Manager - these two graphs are only in "Usage History", right? What
about in the "Processes" Tab - where things are listed under percentage
of processor usage - I only have one "CPU" column, is that the way it
should be?
Thanks for all the help guys,
