Usenet is dying off so badly these days.. I hate to see people get put off
of
being involved. I think maybe we should be more patient and helpful with
people. I know you didn't outright flame, but it was a bit more of a
lecturing,
elitist tone than was necessary.

You use the word "lecturing" as if that were a Bad Thing. It isn't.

With you as a lecturer and the elitist tone that Jim mentioned, it is
a bad thing.

Nonsense.

If any "elitist tone" was evident, it was conjured up in both your
minds. Perhaps you have some "baggage" you need to take care of.
There was nothing overtly elitist in my instructions. I was not only
polite, I even said "thank you." I *could* have ripped her a new
*** for being so stupid. I didn't.

Most usenet posters eventually ease into a posting style which does
the job. There are always exceptions but there is hardly any need to
immediately blast away with *Do This* and *Do That*. It's a newsgroup
about PC games, so relax a little bit.

If you saw any sort of "blast" in my post, it's you who should relax a
bit.

The real problem with usenet is that you guys will debate this
nonsense for a week, and the original poster won't get a clue as to
what the problem is.
