A history of stupidity: Johns and Crysis

Newsgroup regular Johns is well known for his declarations and for his
complete lack of computer knowledge. Throughout the year, he made some
predictions about Crysis and claimed to have insider knowledge. Wouldn't it
be funny if those bold claims and predictions were brought back from the
mists of history thanks to the magic of Google?
Jul 26:
Don't hold your breath. Crysis, in my opinion, is
still nothing but a bunch of videos, and possibly
one complete level that has proven to overwhelm
any modern PC .. much like the same problem
in Gothic 3. I suspect the coders are fighting
like mad to get the frame rates up to 10 or 12
and stop the blue screening caused by monster
code running over the OS. We will know this
for sure about next November, when Crysis
has to postpone its NEXT coming out date.
Aug 2:
And on Nov 16, I'll be sitting there playing MOH: Airborne
while the rest of you are reading the latest update from
Crytek about how they don't feel that Crysis has truely
passed its beta stage, and so the new date for it to
come to market is sometime in April 08 .. the usual
6 month delay exploit while SP1 for Vista is still in
beta. Beta Schmeta ! They will set a new record, and
release the first patch for Crysis even before it comes
out. Probably because we will have to download it
over our modems ( at 7 gigs ), and by the time we
buy Crysis, the patch will finish downloading.
Jul 11:
Looks like a bunch of videos to me. So. Big deal.
They've got level 1 almost finished. Only 19 more
to go ... at roughly 3 years per level. Typically, for
the Krauts, that means they will rush the game to
market this Christmas, with promises to patch
the unfinished levels. JoWood has a nice solution
for this. They let the gamers finish writing the patches,
while they move on to the next version of the game.
I guess we'll be playing Crysis2 while we finish
patching Crysis1.
March 1:
I read an interview with the Crysis lead designer a couple of months
ago. Didn't seem the slightest bit worried. He was expecting a
terrific showing of the game and its engine-technology at GDC.
That is a private showing. So, why private ? They are
trying to sell the damn thing. That's what they are doing.
They don't want to finish it ... just palm it off on some
dummy willing to take the heat when it crashes in
Vista. Crysis is nearly 2 years late now. It was the
answer to Far Cry 2 ... and "Grandma" got the engine.

Sept 24:
My prediction about 6 months ago was that the entire
game will be delayed until Spring of 08. This is just to
soften us up. Problem is, they need to hire a coder
to finish the game ... and pay him a salary even.
The Kraut greed factor is so high now .. Jowood
being a perfect example .. that the game coders
have all taken jobs with McDonalds ( our original
plan of invasion to take over the Euro Common
Market ).
Sept 12:
So what is the problem with giving the rest of us a demo?
You suppose they just don't want to face us ... and the
truth ? It is going to give "do it yourself" a whole new
meaning I suspect.
Apr 3:
Aw nuts ! I came busting in hoping to get the
last laugh on John Lewis. I know that game will
never make it to market. I'll bet there is no game.
I'll bet all they ever did was make movies of the
idea, and then they found that the game was
impossible to code up, much less protect from
a lawsuit by Grandma.
