If the bright pixel is within a circle centered on the screen and

out to be sleazy and the policy is not worth anything, but if the
monitor comes from a reputable brand-name such as Viewsonic,
you may have some joy there instead. Of course, you should have
returned the monitor immediately you noticed the bight spot. A
dark-screen check is one of the key LCD tests immediately after
opening the box.

Oh mark my words Johnny I'm determined to get this sorted, consumers
are being duped and sold defective products. If I don't at least get
this screen replaced I will be marching into that store and running
amok with a gun.

If you used a Visa or MasterCard to buy it with, usually they can be used as
leverage to get a replacement product. As vicious as they can be with
consumer's who don't pay their bills, they are just as vicious, if not
moreso, with vendors. Use that as a leverage with the place where you bought
it. Usually it takes 30-45 days for the payment to be made to the vendor, so
your best bet is if it is within this time frame. But even if not, at least
tell them you will be filing a claim with your credit card to get a
replacement. In the end, the vendor would rather help you out than deal with
the CC company.
