Yep, the forced-compromises with LCD displays and the need to match
the graphics card performance with the native display resolution,
since running a LCD at anything other than its native resolution gives
such a sh***y display.

I have a 20" LCD with 1600x1200 native and I can lower the resolution to
1280x960 or even down to 1024x768 playing games and it looks great to me.
Certainly I play at the native if my card can handle it. I actually run my
desktop at 1280x960 all the time and it looks just fine. I don't think my
eyes are going on me just yet.
